Concept and structure
The intuitive mind is a sacred gift and the rational mind is a faithful servant. We have created a society that honors the servant and has forgotten the gift.”
(Albert Einstein)
In Romanian Universities there are a considerable number of students gifted with extraordinary potential, with many dreams and ideas, but which do not know how and what towards to channel their energy, qualities and knowledge. Many feel that they would like to build something, but they lack the means, the place, the context, the encouragement, the right people around them.
"The Creativity Summer School for Excellence” proposes to encourage students to know themselves, to grow and to become strong and creative personalities which shall be part of a young leader elite.
But why “Creativity for Excellence”?
· Creativity is not only the domain of artists. Creative people are necessary in nearly any field.
· Creativity is one of the prime values in the contemporary world.
· Creativity, as a native gift, can be trained, educated, developed.
· The formal education system – school, university, etc – not only ignores the creative potential of students, but tends often to either force it to conform to standardized means of expression, or suppress it altogether.
· Excellence, in the academic field, demands not only internal recognition, in the community that hosts it, but external legitimization as well, through the innovative contribution it brings to the larger zone of knowledge and creation.
To what end?
· Discovering and valorizing the creative potential of the participants at the Summer School.
· Stimulating the capacity to interact creatively with students of different academic backgrounds.
· Forming, through several successive series, a student elite remarkable for its creativity .
· Realizing connections between the academic environment and that of high-end business and management.
